Just north of Great Sacandaga Lake is the miniscule town of Hope. Follow some back roads that turn to dirt roads for ten miles or so and you come to a trailhead.
The trail leads to several different locations, but one easy hike is along Tennant Creek to Hope Falls.
Lugging the Canon 5D Mark III, a couple of lenses, tripod and several accessories, I made the trek to the falls.
Naturally, the sunlight was coming right over the falls, many of my shots had too much lens flare, despite the fact that I had a nice B+W circular polarizing filter on.
The CPL did well with the glare on the water though, as evident in this shot:
This next image is a three shot HDR processed in Nik HDR eFex Pro 2. I particularly liked the shafts of light that show up on the rock.
This photo is a single shot at f/22 for .5 seconds…with some minor adjustments done in Lightroom 5.2
